Megadeth Biography Dave Mustaine, formerly from Metallica, formed the band back in 1983. A 4 man heavy thrash metal band they named Megadeth. Megadeth really came about because of the result of Metallica asking Dave Mustaine to leave the group. Whatever issues they had, obviously came to a boiling point and Dave left the band to begin his own; and that was how Megadeth was born. Megadeth wanted to stand out from the other metal bands out there so Mustaine decided to add his own skills to work. They sped-up there tempo, and made their music as if it were viciously attacking you. They became one of the house-hold names of thrash metal or sometimes known as speed metal during the middle and late 1980s.
The band enjoys great success, even up until today. You have old, diehard fans and you have new fans, so their fan base just keeps growing. Though back when they started, all their albums went gold or higher and their concerts were always an easy sell out both in the US and Internationally. As time progressed and the 1990s came around, the band had multiple band member changes, but Mustaine was the leader and always seemed to pair up with the right people. There music kind of became a little more mainstream which only made them bigger and more popular. During the 1990s, all of their more mainstream records was released in the Top Ten, which is quite a feat.
Megadeth has two main central members while the rest of the band line-up changed over the years. Dave Ellefson on Bass and Dave Mustaine on vocals and guitar. Although Dave Mustaine was the real head guy of the band. Dave Mustaine did not have an easy childhood and came from some tough times. Brought up in the small suburbs of Souther California by his mother, uncles and aunts, who all shamed him because of his attachment to heavy metal. It turns out that he, along with James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich founded the band Metallica back in 1981. As they carved out their niche for themselves, Mustaine was eventually asked to remove himself from the band supposedly for some sort of substance abuse. He recovered quickly from this and put together his own band named Megadeth.
